110 - 8 Hour CCW Initial Course - First Half

Notes: This class starts before the range is open to the public.
Please enter through the doors on the coffee shop side of the range.

*** THIS IS AN SB2 COMPLIANT CCW COURSE ***

For Initial CCW Students, this is the FIRST HALF of the 16 hours of CCW instruction you are required to attend.  It is advised to take this course prior to 108.

THIS COURSE PROVIDES 8 HOURS OF HANDGUN TRAINING FOR THOSE APPLYING FOR THEIR INITIAL CCW.

This course may include, but is not limited to the following skills:

  • Low Light Shooting
  • Pistol Reloads
  • Advanced Handgun Shooting
  • Handgun Malfunctions
  • Situational Awareness

If you need equipment or ammunition for your course at Down Range, we have a full line of accessories to meet your needs.

Equipment you will need:

  • Handgun (2 magazines each or a revolver with speed loaders is preferable but not required).
  • 200+ rounds of good quality target ammunition for primary handgun 
  • Holster
  • Eye protection – clear glasses.
  • Ear protection – Standard or electronic earmuffs or foam ear plugs.

Clothes: Comfortable clothing that you can move freely in, along with closed toed shoes. Please no “V” necks or other low-cut shirts.  Our Range air system brings in clean outside air.  If it's hot outside, it will be hot on the range.  If it's cold outside, it will be cold on the range.  Dress accordingly.

Water/snacks (no eating or drinking on the range).

LEGAL UPDATE

The California Senate is Voting on the Glock Ban Bill!

Oppose AB 1127! This Bill would ban many pistols for sale in California!

We saw the California Senate Committee for Public Safety Pass this bill and now it is being voted on by the Judiciary Committee. Our opportunities to destroy this bill before being signed by the Governor are running out!

This bill would ban FFL's from selling ALL semi-automatic firearms that use a cruciform trigger bar. Thats virtually ALL Glocks and some others that would follow! We cannot allow the California Legislature to continue and punish Californian's for their own mistakes. Not to mention that the conduct that the Legislature is trying to attack in this bill is ALREADY ILLEGAL!

That being said, the intent is clear.  Anti-2A legislators are simply attempting to BAN more firearms in the state!

Now is the time to let the Senate Judiciary Committee know that Californians will not stand by and let their Constitutional Rights be taken from them!

2024 CCW Changes

Due to Governor Newsom signing into Law SB2; beginning January 1, 2024, CCW training requirement hours have increased. 

The training for the Initial CCW has increased from 8 hours to 16 hours. 

The CCW Renewal training has increased from 4 hours to 8 hours.

The "108 - Renewal or Initial Part 2" - 8hr CCW course will fulfill the requirements for a CCW Renewal, as well as provide 8 hours of the required 16 hours for an Initial CCW. 

The remaining 8 hours required for the Initial CCW can be fulfilled by completing the "110 - CCW Initial Part 1" course.  At this time we do not offer a modular CCW.
